The flag site exits because of the vision and dedication of prior Committees with the generosity of the citizens of Somerset County, PA.
The current Committee is committed to the long-term maintenance of the flag site,
which is dedicated to all Somerset County veterans and to the flag pole which is dedicated to the Flight 93 heroes
If successful, our work will never be finished.

AUGUST 19 - 20, 2010
The flag that flew last year and repaired last winter again needed repairs. The flag donated to the Committee, June 2009, by the Somerset Woodmen of the World Lodge 19 was raised by the America's 9/11 Riders. It was a long and emotional day for the Riders; but, when asked to volunteer there was no hesitation. As one of the Riders was thanked while leaving, his response was, "It is an honor".

JULY 16 - 19, 2010

When the Flag Site's memorial platform was designed and the design donated in 1998 by the EADS Group, it included paving stones for future engraved memorials.  Exactly forty stones line the back wall. Between July 16 and 19, 2010 those forty stones were engraved by Shetler Memorials.

The bench was designed by the Flag Committee and Shetler Memorials of Johnstown.
